Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heavens were opened, and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.” (Luke 3:21-22 ESV)
O LORD my God in whom I trust as the most benevolent Father who lives in eternal glory and splendor. Thank you dear Lord, for this new day and the promises of your salvation being worked out in this world of sin. Help us to exalt your Son who overcame this earthly existence and is now reigning at your side. Give us more of Christ’s perfect wisdom as we learn from your word how to more effectively tell the gospel message of peace to all the world in our lifetime. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
For nothing will be impossible with God.” And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. (Luke 1:37-38 ESV)
ибо у Бога не останется бессильным никакое слово. Тогда Мария сказала: се, Раба Господня; да будет Мне по слову твоему. И отошел от Нее Ангел. (Луки 1:37-38 Russian)
O Dear LORD God, our heavenly Father ~ thank you for remembering all people who magnify your Son with sincere hearts. Grant all believers strong and resolute hearts of faith as we live among so many skeptical and cynical critics of your Spirit inspired Word. Help us Lord to have strong faith like Mary’s in your impossible possibilities. Let the light of faithful disciples of Christ Jesus shine in this dark world where doubters often rule the day. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good for them. But you will not always have me. She has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for burial. And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.” (Mark 14:7-9 ESV)
O LORD God, our dear Father in heaven ~ thank you for the amazing gift of life that we see not only in ourselves, but all over the earth you created. Give us wisdom and a caring heart like the woman who broke the alabaster box of the most expensive perfume to honor our blessed Savior. Help us not to begrudge those who lavish expensive gifts on the poor. Bless Christians everywhere who are being generous toward the poor and not simply criticizing those who do good. In the name of our precious Jesus, Amen.
You shall not fall in with the many to do evil, nor shall you bear witness in a lawsuit, siding with the many, so as to pervert justice, nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his lawsuit. (Exodus 23:2-3 ESV)
Не следуй за большинством на зло, и не решай тяжбы, отступая по большинству от правды; и бедному не потворствуй в тяжбе его. (Исход 23:2-3 Russian)
O LORD, be merciful and gracious to me on this new day that appears with fresh reminders of your exceedingly great glory, power and compassion. According to your plan for all people, help leaders of all the nations – especially the United States of America to humbly submit to the eternal principles of right and wrong for civil governance that are plainly spelled out in the Spirit inspired Scriptures that will endure for all time. Give all people, especially Christians, more wisdom so that we will behave with fairness toward everyone and in particular the poor of this world who have no voice. Thank you dear Father for all blessings that make it possible for us to live with a hopeful attitude. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
